Radar device
Here is useful information about radar and its usage around the world. A radar device is a device that emits electromagnetic waves bundled as a so-called primary signal, reflected from objects “echoes” as a secondary signal receives and evaluates different criteria. So information can be obtained about the objects. Usually it is a tracking (determination of distance and angle). There are different depending on the intended use principles such as radar, lightning weather radar, the radar and the harmonic over the horizon radar.
Here are more other important things about radar. From the received, reflected by the object wave can be obtained the following information:
- The angle or the direction of the object
- The distance to the object (from the time difference between transmission and reception, see the speed of light)
- The relative motion between the transmitter and the object – it can be calculated by the Doppler effect of the shift in the frequency of the reflected signal
- The stringing together of individual measurements gives the distance and the absolute speed of the object
- With good resolution of the radar can detect contours of the object (eg aircraft) or even images obtained (earth and planetary exploration).
